- Let's get together!!!! Face to face meeting to explore and share information about wikis. (took place Sept. 25) Research examples of educational wikis. (Michelle posted examples, Brenda Sherry assisted with invitation to her wiki ) Establish protocols (e.g., wiki etiquette, making edits, use of discussion). Explore UGLIwki - likes/dislikes, make changes. (created glogster page for home page, attempted ways to imbed lesson templates, created categories to organize lesson plans) Agree upon project action plan and create a time line. (selected dates to meet in near future) Beth & Mary-Kay share information from TLLP conference. (thanks gals!)
- Create a standardized template for all lesson plans to be shared on UGLIwiki. (done on paper, working on how to embed in wiki)
- Create 1 lesson collaboratively and share on UGLIwiki. (Mary-Kay agreed to share her psychic book report lesson)
- Invite interested T-Ls to a meeting to share lessons and resources that target UGDSB's "must-learns". (Suzee and Sherie will have the Fyfe family of schools trial the wiki site at an upcoming monthly meeting)
- Upload product(s) of #4's meeting to the UGLIwiki.
- Prepare and distribute a survey (paper or online) to TLs to determine their comfort level with social networking and wikis. (survey monkey survey being developed to distrubute on First Class)
- Develop workshops to address the social networking needs of TLs (determined by survey responses)
- Prepare a slide show to introduce the UGLIwiki to all TLs (what it is, how to access it, how to edit, edit etiquette etc..).
- Prepare resources for TLs to use at their own school to encourage classroom teacher teachers to collaborate with TLs and take advantage of the ideas and experience shared on the wiki.
- Launch the UGLIwiki at a PD Day meeting (October?) - using slide show created in #6. (plan to launch at January Ideashop)
- Bring in allies!! Encourage TLs to share their best practices on the wiki (personal invitations/encouragement from project team)
- Be available to support colleagues as they explore the wiki (answer questions on wiki in a timely fashion).
- Use and contribute to the wiki on an ongoing basis.
- Create a First Class UGLIwiki folder where questions and concerns can be addressed by wiki users.
- Prepare and distribute an online survey to TLs to determine the success of the UGLIwiki.
- Present UGLIwiki to PROGRAM department (January 6th, 2009).
- Present UGLIwiki at OLA Ideashop in February 2009
